Reports To: General Manager/Product

Core Responsibilities:

Initiate and execute design, including communication with General Manager, Product Development Manager(s) and as needed with factories.
Execute seasonal color design.
Work closely with Corporate and Brand/Marketing Team on direction of line.
Keep current on Fashion Trends, color analysis and attend Trend-direction seminars.
Develop strong working relationships with Product Development Team members on development needs and expectations.

Product Development/Design:

Develop strong partnership with General Manager to initiate design direction which includes: concepts, trend research, licensor direction and matrix lay-out.
Work closely with Corporate and other licenses to create synergy with Brand. Daily interaction on pending issues, design, color, trends.
Oversee aspects of design and product development:
Communication with factories and Product Development Manager(s).
Understanding of release times & calendar.
Partner & interact with Product Development Team and Inventory Planning Team on consistent basis.
Responsible for color design/direction of lines.
Assist product development team members to insure deadlines are met on timely basis.

Leadership/Partnership Collaboration:

Develop and maintain partnerships with Licensor Team, General Manager, Brand/Marketing Team, Inventory Planning, Production and factories.
Provide design direction and communication to Product Development Team members.
Present design direction and vision to Senior Management as needed.

Job Specifications:

At least 5 years of design experience.
Able to interpret trends and relate them to product(s).
Organized & detail-oriented.
Able to thrive in fast-pace environment.
Team-oriented is ‘must’.
Education: Bachelors’ degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising or a related field.
